Teachers have the power to set permissions based on individual students or guardians based on class. This can be a tool to control the flow of conversation, but also be a tool for inappropriate interactions or behaviour. This article is a quick guide on how to set student and guardian permissions.
Click on Settings under the Conversation tab within a student’s learning profile view in Markboard.
In the window that appears, you have the following options:
A) Turn on/off whether this account can post or comment. Note: This affects the student’s or guardian’s ability to create posts or comment for that specific class.
B) Turn on/off the flag on this account.
What does flagging an account do?
When an account has been flagged, they will be blocked from being able to create posts or comments in classes they have with you, but not classes they may have with other teachers. When you flag an account, you will be able to enter in a reason for the flag and optionally, you can select an administrator to notify about this issue.
Note: In the case that you have flagged an account, please follow up with your school administrator to take the necessary steps to handle the situation.
