I don’t have an existing Chalk account:
Step 1:
Visit chalk.com/instruction and click on Get started on a 30-day free trial. You will initially be put into a trial for a team size of 10 members. However, if you wish to change your team size, you are able to do so in the Billing page. You can go to How Do I Change my Subscription Plan for more details.
Don’t worry, we don’t require any credit card information to get started! For more details on our billing process, please visit What is the Billing Process?
Step 2:
Click “Create an Account.”
Step 3:
Enter in your Email address and click Sign Up.
Step 4:
On the Profile page, enter your Name and Password and then click Continue.
You now have a Chalk account! Please follow the directions from Step 2 below to continue your Instruction setup process.
I have an existing Chalk account
Step 1:
Visit https://chalk.com/instruction#pricing and click on Begin Trial. You will initially be put into a trial for a team size of 10 members. However, if you wish to change your team size, you are able to do so in the Billing page. You can go to How Do I Change my Subscription Plan for more details.

Step 2:
If you are logged in to Chalk already, you can click Continue as Your Name to continue to the next step.
If you are not logged in already, click on “I already have a Chalk account” and login using your Chalk credentials.
Step 3:
Here you will need to fill out your school information correctly. This means with the full address of your school (including street, city, state/province/territory, and zip or postal code), as well as the full school name and your school district (no abbreviations or acronyms). If you don't have a school district, put the school name in both text boxes.
What if my school already exists on Chalk?
If your school already exists within Chalk, you will see a prompt to join. Click on “Request to Join.” This will send a notification email to your Chalk team’s administrator showing your request. They will then be able to send you an invite email allowing you to join the Instruction team.
Once you have received this email, follow the instructions under How do I Join an Existing School to be linked to your school.
In the meantime, you can click Go to Planboard to get started.
This isn’t my school. Don’t worry. If the school shown isn’t your school, you can simply click on the “Create a new school instead” link in order to create a new school.
I have just created my Chalk school! Now what?
Thanks for signing up for Chalk Instruction! You now have full access to our entire Instruction solution. To start inviting teachers on your team, click on Invite Teachers.
